This morning we'll find out whether local MLA Peter Guthrie will remain Energy minister or play a different role in the Danielle Smith government.

Smith's new cabinet will be sworn in this morning at 11 a.m. and will include many new faces after six cabinet members went down to defeat, including the key portfolios of health, justice, culture, and social services.

With the UCP holding 14 fewer seats, there is speculation it will become a leaner cabinet.

Mayor Jeff Genung says he will be among those watching this morning's swearing-in ceremony closely.

"We know Danielle Smith will remain as our premier, but we don't know who's going to be in the cabinet yet," he said in an interview following the May 29 election.  "So we're just pushing pause on that until we see who we're working with, and then it will be all energies towards the province over the next month or two."
