Cochrane is being hit hard with some localized flooding with the large amounts of rain over the past 24 hours.

The average rainfall for June 13th is usually around 4.5 mm,  yesterday's total was 14.9 mm.

Some helpful tips when living in areas that could potentially flood include, cleaning out downspouts and ensuring they are pointed away from your foundation. If you have a sump pump or backflow valve, ensure it’s working. Check your swale for debris or blockages and stay away from river banks.

Today will be the continuation of a protracted spell of heavy rain. By Wednesday morning, rainfall totals will be between 75 and 125 mm. The strongest rain will occur in the west, with local rainfall totals of 150 mm or more expected throughout the Rocky Mountain Front Range and Foothills.
