The Airdrie Techmation Thunder kept the momentum going last night as they took a 2-1 series lead in the Heritage Junior Hockey League North Divison Final over the Sylvan Lake Wranglers.

Sunday night was a good night for the Thunder as the three goals in the second period proved to be enough to beat the Wranglers 3-2.

The Thunder were down 1-0 after the first period when Foxx Doell of the Wranglers was able to beat Thunder netminder Austin White. When the second period started, the Thunder switched gears and scored three straight.

Tanner Chapman started the onslaught for the Thunder to make it 1-1 before Joey Haden scored two straight to make the score 3-1 heading into the third period.

White held strong between the pipes only allowing 1 goal in the frame to Brett Westin.

Now with a 2-1 series lead, the Thunder look to put the Wranglers in a tough spot by taking a 3-1 series lead tomorrow night, 8 p.m. at the Ron Ebbesen Arena.

In the South Division Final, Okotoks Carstar Bison have a 3-0 series lead against the Medicine Hat Cubs.

The winner of the two remaining series will face off in a five-game league final.
