The 2022 season is over for Airdrie's three Rocky View High School football teams after weekend action.

The George McDougall Mustangs, who the week before ended Cochrane's eight-year reign as RVS champs, lost their provincial qualifier with the Holy Trinity Academy Knights of Okotoks.  In a game played Friday at Spray Lakes Field in Cochrane, the powerful Knights, who are ranked at the top of the Tier II provincial high school football rankings, downed the Mustangs 48 - 21.

The majority of the game featured a ground attack by both clubs with the Paul Condon of the Mustangs once again turning in a strong showing.

The Knights now move on to face fourth-ranked Medicine Hat in the next round.  The Mustangs season ends with the team ranked sixth in the season's final Tier II rankings.

The other two Airdrie RVS teams met one another in a game to determine third place in the league with the W.H. Croxford Cavaliers edging out the Bert Church Chargers 28 - 27.

Croxford finished the season just two spots behind George Mac in the rankings at number eight.
