Plans for the homes to be built in Airdrie by Habitat for Humanity.

The denim was washed and pressed and the diamonds sparkled at Airdrie's Habitat for Humanity fundraiser on Friday, November 4. "Diamonds & Denim" was a resounding success, as Linda Ray with Habitat tells us:

Two deserving families have been chosen to be the recipients of the first Habitat homes that will be located in Bayside, close to schools:

It's expected that building the homes will take about six months. Each recipient has to put in 500 hours of sweat equity as their down payment. Habitat acts as the general contractor and builds the home with the help of volunteers. Businesses and organizations can also Adopt-a-Day and come out and help as a team building exercise.
