According to Calgary Police, last month on August 29, a man was forcibly confined to a vehicle by several men.
"The victim was physically assaulted in the vehicle as the group travelled from Calgary to Airdrie and eventually back to Calgary where the victim was released."
Police are now asking the public for their help to locate the vehicle believed to have been used in what they say was a violent, targeted assault of a Calgary man.
After being released from the vehicle, the assault was reported to the police. The victim was treated at a hospital for his injuries and later released. Investigators believe this was a targeted incident, however, officers are still investigating to determine the motive.
"As a result, police are asking for the public’s help to locate the vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects during the assault. The vehicle is described as a 2010 silver SUV with tinted windows. It is believed the vehicle pulled over on the shoulder of the northbound lanes of Highway 2, just south of Yankee Valley Blvd., between 9:10 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., on the night of the assault."
Police are looking for dashcam footage from anyone who was travelling between Calgary and Airdrie in either direction on Highway 2 on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, between 9:10 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Anyone with information about the vehicle or this incident is asked to contact the police by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers as well.
