The City of Airdrie is alerting commuters that a southbound lane, in front of the old fire hall near 805 Main Street is closed for an unscheduled pavement repair.

"This work is under warranty and won't cost taxpayers," a social media post stated.

The city also gently poked fun at itself on the same post questioning rhetorically, "Does it seem like we dig up Main St. every year? It's true, we have dug it up over the past few years."

According to the city's website, though previous water and sanitary sewer upgrades were supposed to help reduce were meant to reduce the number of repairs, "We are currently investigating the reason for this pavement settlement."

In years past, in both 2018 and 2019 Main St was also under construction for water and sanitary sewer pipe upgrades.
