Therese O'Driscoll plead guilty to the abduction of two granddaughters today (Dec. 21) at Alberta Provincial Court in Calgary and is expected to be sentenced in February.

The 69-year-old maternal grandmother of the children entered her plea voluntarily, acknowledging she has given up her right to a trial, and that she will have a criminal record.

The sentencing judge will not be bound by any joint submission of her defence and the Crown.

Multiple charges were originally laid against her in April 2021. Since then, others have been charged in relation to the case.
