So you're aware...the new traffic lights at 8 Street and Canoe Drive should be up and running soon, according to the City's Ken Velcic.

Velcic says the new lights were installed for two reasons: the Creekside development required them, and the City will be building a road crossing for Railway Ave. across the CP tracks. That project was delayed until the spring of 2012. Once it's completed, the area will see increased traffic east and west on Railway Ave.

Another new traffic signal at East Lake Blvd. and East Lake Road is expected to be in operation the week of December 19.
