Airdronian Jake Neighbours and the Edmonton Oil Kings win a nail-biter in overtime beating the Saint John Sea Dogs 4-3 in the Memorial Cup.

It was a busy first period for both teams, the Oil Kings opened the game up by scoring two straight thanks to Jaxsen Wiebe and Carter Souch. For the rest of the period, the Sea Dogs stole the momentum scoring three straight. Raivis Kristians Ansons, Josh Lawrence and William Dufour were all able to put the puck into the back of the Oil Kings net to make the score 3-2 at the end of the frame.

The second period was a lot less action-filled. There was only one goal in the frame and that came at the stick of Wiebe for his second goal of the game and to tie up the score 3-3 going into the third period.

The third period was a very quiet one as no goals were scored. The Oil Kings had seven shots while the Sea Dogs had 10.

In Overtime Wiebe completed the hat trick by scoring his third goal of the game and beating the Sea Dogs 4-3.

Airdronian Neighbours was held off the score sheet this game.

In their first game Neighbours and the Oil Kings suffered a tough 4-3 to the Shawinigan Cataractes. Up next on the Oil Kings schedule is their final game of the round robin is the team that won the Ontario Hockey League, the Hamilton Bulldogs.
