The Calgary Stampede is buckling down to begin Friday, July 8.

To help with transportation during one of the City’s biggest events of the year, the City of Calgary announced C-Trains will be running 24 hours a day, beginning in the evening of July 7 until July 18.

The City of Calgary will be releasing special Stampede Transit Day passes, the day passes are valid for one full day between July 7 and 17. The special price for Adult transit day passes is $8.25, (reg. $11.25) and Youth transit day passes are $6.25 (reg. 8.25).

The city says you can find the Stampede Transit Day passes from Customer Service Centres at participating 7-Eleven, Mac’s/Circle K and Safeway/Sobeys stores throughout the city.

To validate the pass, scratch the day you are travelling prior to boarding a C-Train or bus. The pass will be valid until 4 a.m. the following day.

The Stampede will be kicking off with the 2022 Calgary Stampede Parade on Friday morning. Spectators of the Calgary Parade are encouraged to bike, walk, or use the transit system Calgary offers rather than driving close to the route, as more vehicles on the road would disrupt an already congested traffic flow.

With the parade there will be road closures and detours as follows:

  • 9 Avenue SE. between 8 Street SE and 3 Street SE
