On Friday evening, Stettler RCMP confirmed that they had recovered the body of a 17-year-old Airdrie teenager who was presumed to have drowned in a central Alberta Lake.

On August 29, Steller RCMP received a report of a possible drowning on Buffalo Lake near Ol’ MacDonalds Resort.

Emergency crews including Stettler Fire, STARS air ambulance, and an RCMP drone responded, but at the time were unable to locate the victim who was believed to still be in the water.

"RCMP send their deepest condolences," a press release from police read.
