The Airdrie Techmation Thunder have evened the Heritage Junior Hockey League best-of-seven North Division final at a game apiece but they had to work overtime against the Sylvan Lake Wranglers to do it last night (March 10).

Joey Haden scored his fourth of the playoffs 1:16 into the extra frame to give Airdrie a 4 - 3 come-from-behind win as the series shifts back to Sylvan Lake for game three tomorrow at 6:30 pm.  Game four will be played Tuesday night at 8:00 pm in the Ron Ebbesen Arena.

The Wranglers appeared to pick up where they had ended game one, a 4 - 1 victory for Sylvan Lake when they scored three third-period goals to pull out the win.  This time around it was a strong first period that gave Sylvan a 2 - 0 lead after 20 minutes.

The Thunder weren't phased by the quick start by the Wranglers as they came back with two goals of their own in the second frame to make it a 2 - 2 game after two periods.  The Airdrie goals came off the sticks of Jared Miller and Justin LeGrandeur.

Tyson Sandhu gave Airdrie a 3 - 2 lead just past the two-minute mark of the third, a goal that looked to be the winner before Sylvan Lake would knot the score with just 20 seconds to play, forcing the overtime frame.  Haden's goal early in the extra frame gave Airdrie the win and tied the series.

In the South Division final last night, the Okotoks Carstar Bisons went up 2-0 in the series following a 6 - 3 win over the Medicine Hat Cubs.  Game three in that one is also tomorrow in the Hat.
