Kevin Bennett, a co-owner of the Calgary Stampeders, passed away, the organization said on Thursday. He was 65.

Bennett was a part-owner of Calgary during its three Grey Cup victories.

He leaves Patricia, his wife of 20 years, his children Ryan and Jennifer, and two grandchildren behind. Jennifer Simmons, a daughter of his late wife, is also left behind by Kevin.

He had a prosperous career in Calgary's oil and gas sector and participated in the local ownership group that bought the Stampeders in 2005.

Bennett also enjoyed flying for fun, learning to fly gliders at the age of 15, and participating in the Falcon Warbirds organization in Arizona while flying a Stearman biplane from the Second World War.
