After his first year back with the Calgary Flames, Darryl Sutter has been named a Jack Adams finalist.

The Jack Adams Award is awarded to the head coach who has contributed the most to his team's success.

Members of the National Hockey League Broadcasters' Association submitted ballots for the Jack Adams Award after the conclusion of the regular season. The top three vote-getters are announced as finalists.

The winners of the 2022 NHL Awards will be revealed during the Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Final, with exact dates, format and times to be announced.

With Sutter's return, Calgary saw the biggest season-over-season improvement compared to any team in the NHL.

Last year, before Sutter's return, the Flames missed the playoffs with a 26-27-3 record. This year with Sutter, the Flames sit at the top of the Pacific Division with a record of 50-21-11.

Andrew Brunette of the Florida Panthers and Gerard Gallant of the New York Rangers are the other finalists this year.
