On Thursday night (April 14) Cochrane's Dillon Dube scored the first goal of the game against Vegas only to see the Golden Knights come back from that 1 - 0 deficit to beat the Flames 6 - 1.

Last night, the Flames saw Arizona stake a 1 - 0 lead after the first period only to roar back, with Dube leading the way in the second.

Dube, who played for the U15 Airdrie Xtreme during his formative years, opened the scoring for the Flames 38 seconds into the second then collected his second goal of the game and 13th of the season to make it 4 - 1 just over three minutes into the period as Calgary went on to pummel the Coyotes 9 - 1.

The Flames scored six times during the second-period onslaught and added three more in the third.  Besides Dube's two goals, both of which were scored unassisted, Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk each scored twice and added an assist. For his efforts, Dube was named the game's third star.

The win also accounted for two milestone moments for Calgary.  The victory clinched a playoff spot for the Flames and also pushed them over the century mark in points.  Calgary now has 101 points in first place in the Pacific Division.

In the other game for an Alberta team former Flame, Mike Smith picked up his second straight shutout as the Edmonton Oilers blanked Vegas by a score of 4 - 0.
