A suspected drug dealer is charged with 19 offences after a two-month investigation in Olds yielded drug seizures valued at over $100,000.

On November 24th, ALERT Red Deer’s organized crime team, with assistance from RCMP in Olds and Sundre, searched two homes and two vehicles.

Eric Becker, 33, is accused of six breach charges, all of which stem from an earlier ALERT investigation in February 2022.

The following was seized as evidence:

  • 285 grams of fentanyl;
  • 201 grams of cocaine;
  • 697 grams of methamphetamine;
  • 2,900 ml of GHB;
  • 372 hydromorphine pills;
  • 4 firearms;
  • $8,445 cash.

A lifetime ban on possessing weapons applies to the suspect. Two of the four firearms he had were handguns that had been stolen. To ascertain whether the firearms have been used in any other crimes in the past, more forensic testing and ballistics analysis will be performed on them.

ALERT’s investigation began in September 2022 after the team received information about drug trafficking in the community.
