Sam Morros, Co-Chair of the Airdrie Parades Committee is happy to announce parade registration is officially open, as of today.

“Registration for the Canada Day Parade is officially live as of 9 am on April 1 and it is not an April Fool's joke.” laughs Morros.

Around 110 floats are expected to participate in this year’s Canada Day Parade, which Morros says is a standard size for them.

Morros expects the spots for float registration will fill up a little faster than usual this year, since it’s the first parade in a while.

“We have all of our returning faces that we always see come back. They're always very fast to register. Then we have some new faces that kind of tend to join us later on. I do expect, being the first parade in two years, that registration is going to be a very hot item this year.”

Morros says they've had a lot of excellent feedback so far, along with lots of inquiries coming in from local businesses and organizations.

They are still looking for parade volunteers. If you would like to volunteer or sign up to participate, visit their website.
