The Board of Trustees of Rocky View Schools was treated to a presentation at their regular meeting on November 17 by students from Springbank Middle School who have taken part in "Destination Imagination". This after-school program is the world's largest creative problem-solving program. Teams of five to seven students work collaboratively to solve a team challenge, a fun exercise that is socially and intellectually engaging.

Virginia Wong, the regional director for Destination Imagination and a parent at Springbank Middle School, tells us more about the program:

The program, which has more than 38,000 volunteers, many of whom are parents or educational professionals, also includes tournaments where students can present their solutions. Students from Springbank Middle School took part in the Global Competition in Knoxville, Tennessee last year.

The students hope that their presentation to the Board will encourage other schools in the division to participate in Destination Imagination.
