The scene has now been cleared.

Earlier on Thursday evening, there were reports of a car engulfed in flames near Cross Iron Mills Mall, in the Northbound direction of the QEII highway. The left lane was blocked off. 

A witness saw Rocky View Fire crews on the scene, dealing with the fire. The witness reported that fire crews were attempting to open the hood with a saw after the car was extinguished.
