Statistics Canada has released stats showing Calgary's Metropolitan Region is one of the fastest-growing areas in Canada.

Calgary's metropolitan area includes Calgary and surrounding communities like Airdrie, Chestermere and Cochrane.

The jump in population from July 2021 to July of 2022 was around 49,754. Previously sitting at 1,558,588, now sitting at 1,608,342.

Alberta had five of the Prairies' fastest-growing regions, with Canmore, Sylvan Lake, Edmonton, and Lethbridge joining Calgary on the list.

According to the city of Airdrie, Airdrie's population is around the 77,000 range and it is predicted that by 2032, we will be around 110,000 people.

Airdrie has experienced one of the highest growth rates in Canada.

For the Calgary Metropolitan Region, it welcomed 25,622 immigrants in 2021–22, According to Statistics Canada.
