The Calgary Flames have announced the name and logo change of their affiliate team. The Stockton Heat will now be known as the Calgary Wranglers.

Following the Western Canadian Junior Hockey League's (WCHL) Calgary Wranglers, who moved to Calgary in 1977, the Wranglers are the second team in Calgary to have the name. For ten seasons, the WCHL Wranglers competed in Calgary, graduating players like Kelly Kisio, Mike Vernon, and Dana Muryzyn to the National Hockey League.

The Calgary Wranglers' return as the American Hockey League affiliate of the Flames gives the team's original logo, which represented an important period in Calgary hockey history, a brand-new design.

The Wranglers' alternate logo design and home and away outfits will be revealed soon, among other exciting team announcements later in the future.

Wranglers merchandise will soon be on sale for the remainder of the summer at all Calgary Flames Team Store retail locations.
