After a two-year hiatus, this year was the 12th annual Batting Against Breast Cancer Slow Pitch tournament and they surpassed their goal of fundraising over $1 million dollars for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Event Chair Heather Kostuk was more than excited to see this event return

“We had lots of people, lots of happy people. People thanked us for being there, they seemed to have a lot of fun. That's what it's about raising money and having fun.”

This year's top three individual fundraisers were Barb Long with $2798.52, Lisa Douglas with $5421.6 and Ryan Preston being the top individual fundraiser bringing in $8177.72.

The top three fundraising teams were the Disruptors with $5926.80, Diamond Divas with $6514.92 and the top fundraising team, the Boobie Monsters fundraising $11,256.02.

The best-dressed team this year was the Diamond Divas.

The total of how much was raised in this tournament is not available just yet but will be by the end of this week or next week.

As long as everything goes according to plan they plan on hosting the 13th event this next summer.
