Team Canada and Airdronian Jake Neighbours won the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Ice Hockey World Championships in Finland and Latvia.

Canada had multiple players from the Calgary Flames, Tyler Toffoli, Milan Lucic and MacKenzie Weegar.

Canada made it out of the preliminary round second in pool B, losing to only Norway and Switzerland. They were able to beat everybody else, that includes Latvia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Kazakhstan, and Czechia.

In the playoffs, Canada ran the table beating Finland 4-1, knocking off Latvia again 4-2 and claiming the gold medal against Germany with a score of 5-2.

Here are the statistics recorded by Neighbours and Calgary Flames members in the tournament:

Jake Neighbours - One goal and four assists.

Milan Lucic - Two goals and two assists.

Tyler Toffoli - Three goals and three assists

MacKenzie Weegar - Three goals and eight assists.

Matt Coronato, a prospect of the Calgary Flames had five goals and three assists for Team USA.
