Airdrie Urgent Care will be closed evenings and overnight, Friday and Saturday according to an Alberta Health Services press release.

"The Urgent Care Centre at the Airdrie Community Health Centre will be temporarily closed overnight from 10 p.m. Friday, July 8th until 7 a.m. Saturday, July 9th and again at 10 p.m. July 9th until 7 a.m. Sunday, July 10th due to a gap in physician coverage."

According to the release, all patients in need of emergency care will receive it.

"Patients presenting to the Urgent Care Centre during the closure will be assessed, triaged and referred to alternative sites or to local medical clinics for follow-up depending on their needs."

EMS will transport patients to nearby facilities as necessary.

"All efforts to secure coverage have been exhausted. This is a last resort. Other services at the site continue. We are grateful to our staff and physicians for their support during this time," stated the press release.
