Integral Energy Services in Airdrie is holding its 2nd Annual Supper & Live/Silent Auction, September 15, at Woodside Golf Course.

The evening is in support of the Children's Wish Exile Island fundraiser, with a mission to raise money so families can fulfill their child's wish of having a vacation together, and escape from the enormous stresses that illness places on each of them daily.

Children's Wish Volunteer, Duane Martens, with IES, hopes there's a strong turnout for the event.

Martens says emotions run high when considering the situation the children they're helping are in.

Martens is quick to say that this effort would not be possible without the support of the Airdrie business community.

Once again local companies are challenged to make a journey to Exile Island - this year with a Highland Games twist! The goal - to grant wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses. Clans are challenged to raise $10,000 each (the average cost of a wish), and will be paired with a child in the process of having a wish granted.

On Friday, September 21, 2012, the Clans will be banished to Exile Island (Shaw Millennium Park in Calgary) for an afternoon of intense mental and physical challenges.

Company pride will be on the line as teams vie for the William Wallace Trophy (awarded to the tribe that raises the most money) and title of Ultimate Strongman, awarded to the tribe with the most challenge points.

Exile Island was introduced to Alberta in 2009 and since then has gone on to raise $530,000 in support of granting wishes for children. That's 53 wishes granted.
