The second annual Rocky View Schools’ (RVS) Helping Hands Cleanup campaign will take place April 25-29 to correspond with Earth Day on April 22. Five Airdrie schools will be participating, including A.E. Bowers Elementary School, Bert Church High School, Cooper’s Crossing, Northcott Prairie, and Nose Creek Elementary.

According to a press release from RVS, during the cleanup staff and students at most schools across the division will spend time keeping their school grounds beautiful by collecting garbage from their playground areas.

“This is a great opportunity for students and staff to build community, show school spirit and take pride in their school facility while observing Earth Day and its message of environmental stewardship,” said Superintendent of Schools, Greg Luterbach.

To add fun to the day, members of RVS’ Operations team will supply food prizes to the classes that find the most valuable item, the weirdest item, the largest item and show the best school spirit.

The inaugural Helping Hands Cleanup was held in April 2021.
