Airdrie RCMP are asking for the public's assistance after they were dispatched to a report of a male who had sexually assaulted a male youth last week.

According to Mounties, the offence occurred on Tuesday, August 29 at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Veterans Boulevard and 8 Street in the tunnel under Veterans.

"The victim reports that a middle-aged male, who was wearing a white robe and cloth headwear, approached him on the walking path and grabbed him in a sexual manner. The victim yelled at the suspect, who then walked away," a police press release stated.

The victim was able to provide a good description of the suspect and a composite sketch was completed. The suspect is described as a male of Middle Eastern, South Asian or East Indian descent, approximately 40 years old, 5 foot 9 inches tall with a medium build, dark hair, a moustache and a little facial hair on the chin - greyish colour.
