On July 27, 2022, at 9:55 P.M.., Airdrie RCMP responded to a report of a silver Dodge truck having struck a light pole in the Stonegate neighbourhood. The second report of a silver Dodge truck had struck a nearby residential garage (within the Stonegate neighbourhood) followed.
Police attended the residence and identified the driver and lone vehicle occupant as an Airdrie resident.
The male was taken into custody and is facing a number of provincial charges including fail to remain at the scene of a collision, driving while unauthorized and operating a motor vehicle with expired registration. Alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor in the collision. The driver’s vehicle has been seized for 30 days and the driver was issued a suspension under the Alberta Immediate Roadside Sanction Program.
