An early morning collision on Thursday that occurred just after the Yankee Valley Boulevard exit heading Southbound on the QEII resulted in no injuries, according to police.

"Airdrie RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision. The investigation continues," an RCMP spokesperson confirmed.

The collision created a massive gridlock for motorists, with some describing the scene as being more akin to a 'parking lot'.
