A man accused of murder in the 2019 death of an Uber driver near the Springbank Airport has been found guilty of manslaughter. 

Cochrane RCMP responded to a call after a man was found dead off a rural road on Dec. 29, 2019. 

The victim was later identified as 30-year-old Kasif Hirani of Calgary.

Andrew Christal of Airdrie, was charged with second-degree murder but after a two-day deliberation, the jury found him guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter.

He is expected back in court in June for sentencing.
