The Airdrie Food Bank is having a "Summers is Hot, Hunger is Not" summer raffle to help raise funds for the Food Bank.

Christine Taylor, Events, Marketing, and Communications Manager for the Airdrie Food Bank is excited about the raffle.

“This is the second year we've done this kind of raffle. We were donated these lovely sets of patio furniture and we want to be able to share them with our community and also raise money to help us through the summer months.”

The larger patio set is an Agio McKenzy 7-piece High Dining Set that comes with a barbecue.

  • All-weather Wicker Is Resistant to Fading, Stains, Mildew and Stretching

  • Fast Drying Foam Allows Water Drainage to Prevent Mildew

  • Rust-free, Aluminum Construction

  • Porcelain Tile Tabletop with Storage Area

  • Durable Powder-coated Finish

Napoleon TRAVELQ TQ285X Portable Propane BBQ Grill with Scissor Cart and Cover:

  • 1,838.7 cm² (285 ²) total cooking surface

  • Up to 12,000 BTU

  • Grill cover included

The Smaller patio set is an Augusta 4-piece Patio Conversation Set that comes with a deck box:

  • Includes: 2 club chairs, 1 sofa seat, 1 coffee table and 4 accent pillows

  • Aluminum frames

  • Synthetic round wicker

  • Sunbrella® fabric

Keter Rattan 870 L (230 gal.) Deck Box

  • Built-in handles

  • Lockable

With the summer months being a little bit slower donation-wise, Taylor says this raffle will help feed our community.

“We're seeing 25 per cent more food go out than we previously have in any other year. We are the busiest we've ever been, busier than during COVID. I think we are seeing a lot of the fallout of COVID the last few years and people are out of work, groceries costs are higher, groceries aren't even available in some cases.”

To buy a ticket for the raffle, visit the Airdrie Food Bank WEBSITE.

Midnight on June 30th is when the window to buy tickets closes. They will make the draw for the winners on Canada Day.

Taylor finished off by saying they plan on doing something for Empty Bowls and Shamrock Shimmy this year as well.
