In the early morning hours on Sunday, June 5, at approximately 2:54 A.M., Airdrie's fire department responded to a house fire at Reunion Court.

Upon arrival, firefighters found an extensive fire at the rear of the house extending into the attic. The two residents of the home had safely evacuated while neighbouring properties were temporarily evacuated as a precaution and sustained some minor exterior damage. No injuries were reported. 

A total of four apparatus from the city of Airdrie, as well as one from the Crossfield Fire Department, were utilized. 17 firefighters were on the scene. 

According to the city, an investigation is underway by the Fire Prevention Bureau.
