Cochrane RCMP’s investigation into the collision that occurred on Saturday in Rocky View County continues. However, the motorcyclist, a 23-year-old male from Calgary, succumbed to his injuries as a result of the collision.

The initial investigation determined that several vehicles were northbound on Hwy. 22.  As the first vehicle slowed to make a left-hand turn, the vehicles behind it slowed and came to a stop. The northbound motorcycle then collided with the stopped vehicles. Bystanders and emergency responders provided immediate first aid but despite extensive efforts, the man could not be saved. 

Cochrane Victim Services is a not-for-profit organization that provides 24-hour crisis response, support, and referral services to victims of crime and tragedy. Cochrane VSU has been engaged and will be providing support for anyone who was affected by this event.

Cochrane RCMP extends their deepest condolences to the young man’s family and friends.
