Airdrie RCMP are investigating an armed robbery.

On August 27, at around 7:26 p.m., a 15-year-old male was walking by the corner of Center Avenue and Albert Street, in Airdrie, when he was approached by a masked suspect who was carrying a bat.

The suspect tried to intimidate the male by showing the bat and demanded he hand over his shoes.

The victim grabbed the bat and disarmed the offender, who dropped his mask as he ran away.

No injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.  

The suspect is described as:

  • Light complexion with short, blonde hair.
  • 16 – 17 year old male.
  • Wearing a grey shirt, black pants and black shoes.
