A company in Australia who has locations here in Canada gives its Australian employees six to 12 weeks of “life leave” each year to travel, work part-time, or simply to do nothing.
The company is also introducing two new options starting today. Term-time working where employees work full-time during the school year, with all school holidays off (for those with children), or an employee can work part-time for three months.
They say the policies are an effort to address a growing demand for flexible work environments in general, not just for working parents.
They also say the influx of travel-minded millennials has also inspired these new policies Also the policies have lead to an increase in employee satisfaction and has caused employee engagement to rise by 11%.
Would you like to see your workplace implement these types of policies so Airdrie Families and residents can find a better work-life balance?
