If you've lived in Airdrie for the last seven years, then you probably know the city has a Chess Club.

Or perhaps you don't and if that's the case, let us introduce you to the Airdrie Chess Club.

The group meets every Thursday night at the Airdrie Public Library, but so far only a few rook and knight enthusiasts play.

Right now, only the club only has five members in their clan and would love to see more come down.

Recently, Susanne Rempel and Bill Wickerson with the club came by to talk about their love of the game and to invite others in the community to join them.

Susanne even brought a stylish wooden chess board and played a game right in the studio.

Take a "quick" look at how Bill and Susanne fared in their epic game of chess.

If you're interested in joining the local Chess Club, you can drop by the Airdrie Public Library Thursday nights from 6:30-8:00.
