For three days, producers, industry, government representatives and Alberta Beef Producers delegates tackled big issues impacting the province’s cattle industry at the the Annual General Meeting in Calgary.
 
Executive Director Rich Smith says delegates participated in active and thoughtful debates on resolutions from the fall meetings related to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, carbon tax and sequestration, industry funding and collaboration, and electoral structure.

Marty Carpenter, Director of the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence, Canada Beef and James Bradbury, Brand Officer, Canada Beef, spoke about the evolution of the Canadian beef brand and how recent global consumer research is influencing consumer brand loyalty for Canadian Beef at home and abroad.

The Environmental Stewardship Award was presented to Tom Thompson and Winding Creek Ranch near Mayerthorpe.
