As the fires continue in B.C., Alberta Beef Producers is encouraging Alberta ranchers and farmers to lend a hand.

Chair of the Association, Bob Lowe, says in a lot of cases, ranchers can't find the cattle, so they're cutting fences to let them get away the best they can.

But, ranchers who have their cattle will need some help.

He adds, to get involved you can contact the B.C. Cattlemen's Association by email  wildfires@cattlemen.bc.ca.

"The B.C. Cattlemen's Association is organizing efforts for relief. Part of it is they're looking for feed or even people who have room to take some cattle."

Another way you can help is by visiting a website created to organize relief efforts.

The website allows you to post your location and the help you are able to offer, such as feed, transportation, and board.

It's a scary time for people in B.C., and they will also need support upon re-entry and long term recovery. You can help with this aspect of relief by donating to the Red Cross.
