Some local kids went above and beyond to show their love and support for Indigenous children in Canada.

Little Tikes dayhome in Airdrie wanted to do something to honour the kids after hundreds were found in unmarked graves at residential schools across the country.

"There's so much happening in this world that we have to do something," said operator of Little Tikes, Florence Dominix. "Something to help people to let them know that we care."

he's amazing. For her to do that, I admire her for doing that."

She hopes her act of support for Indigenous children will be seen by others in the community, who will want to take similar action.

"Just hang a ribbon off a tree or your garage light, anything just to let people know. Down the street here, there are ladies that get t-shirts in the windows. Put a teddy bear out, anything to let them know that you're thinking of them and your hearts are with them."

The display can still be seen at the Little Tikes dayhome on Everglade Dr.
