This Saturday, October 29, the Kosovo chapter of the Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle Unit, along with RCMP, Alberta Sheriffs, City Council, and Airdrie Emergency Services will be participating in a Remembrance Day march to honour Airdrie's fallen soldiers. City alderman Allan Hunter, who helped organize the event, says thanks to crosses donated by the Calgary Poppy Fund, a dedication ceremony will take place on Veterans Blvd. about 11 am.

Allan hopes the younger residents of our city decide to get involved in the event.

Hunter says anyone in Airdrie with a motorcycle is encouraged to come along and ride in the procession. The  group will start off from the Airdrie Legion at 10:30 am. and will march to the Dickson Crossing parking lot.  From there, they'll cross the northbound lanes of Veterans Boulevard and erect crosses honouring Airdrie's soldiers along the median. Each cross will have the name, rank and age of the person who died for our country.
